Joe Ross is co-founder and partner in Homecourt Hospitality. Joe oversees hotel and financial operations, asset management, and business development. Joe has been a member of the hospitality industry for over four decades. His career has afforded him opportunities to work in many facets of the business, including a 26-year tenure with Hilton Hotels in positions spanning from General Manager to Vice President of Operations, with hotel portfolios in excess of $100 million in revenues annually.

He describes his greatest reward as being able to work with people who share his passion for hospitality. After leaving Hilton, Joe co-founded Paramount Hotel Advisors and served as Senior Managing Director. Subsequently, he formed a successful brokerage firm through a partnership that continues to flourish today. Joe’s true professional passion is focused on continuous improvement with Homecourt’s dedicated team of hoteliers, which in turn creates value for the company’s partners, guests and communities.

Joe believes that passion in what you do is the key to success and contentment. Whether spending time with his wife Kim, one of his seven children or four grandchildren, or simply reading, he believes you have to be passionate and committed in all that you do.

Josh Williams is co-founder and partner in Homecourt Hospitality. As a seasoned industry veteran with over 25 years of experience, he directs the efforts in underwriting, financing, insurance needs and business development for the company. Previously Mr. Williams held senior level positions within the industry including Hilton Hotels, Forte Hotels as well as leadership positions in privately held organizations.

Mr. Williams also leads a team of experts in national investment sales, including debt security, structured equity placement, and advisory services with a specific concentration in the hospitality industry. With extensive experience in acquisitions, development, and hotel finance, Mr. Williams has facilitated the sale of over 60 hotels in the Southeast including a portfolio transactions of over $100 million. Clients include private and public companies as well as financial institutions. Before founding Homecourt Hospitality, he co-founded Paramount Hotel Advisors and served as Senior Managing Director. Subsequently, he formed Hotel Brokers Inc., a successful brokerage firm under the umbrella of Marcus and Millachap Commercial Property Company through a partnership that continues to flourish today. As one of the leading brokers in the hospitality industry, Mr. Williams possesses broad experience in analyzing complex transactions in acquisitions and the development of a variety of individual hotels throughout his career. The vast experience Mr. Williams brings assists him in every aspect of the sales process from identifying and pre-qualifying buyers, to anticipating potential issues before they arise during the due diligence period.  This insight and experience has enabled Mr. Williams to successfully guide his team to assist both buyers and sellers through difficult transactions and ensure success for his clients.

Mr. Williams holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Georgia where he had a distinguished football career in Division I athletics earning him 3 varsity letters. He also holds a Certified Hotel Administrator designation from The American Hotel and Lodging Institute.

Brian Rafferty joined Homecourt Hospitality in June 2019 as Director of Operations. Brian is focused on delivering exceptional results by developing high performing teams capable of maximizing operational efficiencies and leveraging opportunities for innovation. His nearly 30 years of experience operating limited service, extended stay and full-service hotels within the Hilton, Marriott and IHG family of brands provides Homecourt Hospitality with a strong foundation for future growth.

His passion for the hotel industry began as a young front desk clerk in upstate New York while attending college and majoring in Computer Science. Eight states and many years later, Brian’s commitment to excellence is best demonstrated through his many awards and accomplishments including General Manager of the Year and the prestigious IHG Torchbearer Award. Brian understands this recognition is only possible through the hard work and dedication of the hotel teams he’s had the privilege of leading and maintains a high focus on team building, workplace culture and community in all he does.

Brian, his wife Heather and their two daughters, Lena and Bella have made Charleston their home since 2013. When they aren’t attending school sporting events and concerts, he and his family enjoy traveling and spending time with family and friends.
